EBA Engineering, Inc. (EBA) is seeking qualified Environmental Scientist candidates to work in our Baltimore, Maryland, office. The Environmental Scientist will serve as a Resident Engineer on an environmental construction project.

The Resident Engineer job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring and documenting contractor/subcontractor activities including environmental tasks.
  • Reviewing waste disposal manifests and maintaining waste disposal records.
  • Verifying contractor/subcontractor compliance with project specifications.
  • Attending and assisting with progress meetings with the contractor and project team. In addition, other job responsibilities may include: 
  • Performing hazardous and regulated materials assessments, lead-based paint inspections, soil and groundwater sampling, Phase I environmental site assessments, and other tasks as required.
  • Interpreting data and developing reports related to field inspections/activities.
  • Generating client correspondence.
  • Responding to client inquiries/requests.
  • Completing other tasks as assigned.This position offers an excellent opportunity for career development and advancement

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or related field
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 to 5 years' experience in the environmental consulting field
  • EPA Asbestos Building Inspector certification
  • Lead inspection and risk assessment certifications
  • Must be able to wear a respirator
  • Reliable and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to work efficiently within group and independent settings
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and other colleagues as well as clients
  • Above-average verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and Adobe Acrobat
