EBA Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Engineer to work in our Baltimore, Maryland, office. This position offers an excellent opportunity for career development and advancement.

Under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer, the Transportation Engineer will:

  • Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks.
  • Prepare engineering calculations and develop drawings and visual aids.
  • Read and develop contract plans, special provisions, engineer's estimates, analyses, and inspection reports.
  • Review construction drawings and/or reports and develop design options, quantities, and repair recommendations.
  • Prepare technical reports.
  • Perform field-related work including site visits and field inventories.
  • Perform engineering analysis and design for roadway-related elements such as roadside protection, alignments, traffic control elements, and pedestrian and bicycle accommodations.
  • Perform calculations for code compliance (AASHTO, MSHA, ASTM, etc.) and project specific standards and requirements.
  • Work independently and efficiently under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
  • Be committed to delivering excellence.
  • Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
  • 3+ years of relevant experience with a focus in roadway or transportation engineering
  • EIT required within 12 months of employment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with MicroStation (preferred) and/or AutoCAD
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to perform field work (site visits, field inventories, traffic data collection, etc.)
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in civil or transportation engineering
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Experience with InRoads design software
  • Experience with maintenance of traffic design
  • Experience with traffic operations (experience with Synchro)
  • Experience with roadway drainage design
  • Maryland State Highway Administration project experience.
