Position Description

As a Senior GIS Analyst, you will help develop cutting-edge geospatial and nonspatial solutions for local governments, utilities, public safety, and others. Come help us make a difference!

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead project scoping meetings with clients to determine objectives, deliverables, data requirements and sources, processing requirements, analytical procedures, and mapping/reporting requirements.
  • Organize and maintain project documentation in network folders and GitHub.
  • Design high performance, easy-to-maintain databases that maximize business rules, processes, and functions.
  • Use advanced SQL/Python scripting skills to produce reports, forms, views, and maps, and to perform complex database queries, data aggregation, ETL functions, and geo-processing services.
  • Prepare enterprise GIS installation deployment and test plans, and independently install, configure, test, and document SQL Server, ArcGIS for Server, and ArcGIS for Portal Extension.
  • Prepare enterprise GIS migration plans, including test plans, then migrate legacy databases and published services to the new GIS environment while validating no loss of data and/or published services.
  • Trouble-shoot and resolve technical problems.
  • Develop and implement standard QA/QC procedures.
  • Mentor and train junior staff.
  • Identify, recommend, and promote new project opportunities.
  • Assist with researching and preparing technical proposals and with developing labor estimates.

  • GIS Professional (GISP) certification
  • Technical experience with ArcGIS System (Desktop, Enterprise, and Web)
  • Experience with cloud systems (AWS, Azure)
  • Conference presentation experience
  • Experience writing marketing blogs and publishing technical papers

Education and Experience Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in GIS, information technology, or related field
  • 8+ years of GIS industry experience
  • Mastery of ArcGIS REST service architecture and data/service requirements for projects
  • Exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptionally strong client relationship/management skills

  • U.S. citizen or Green Card immigration resident in the United States
  • Ability to successfully pass a federal, state, and local security background check
